Seniors Helping Seniors provides non-medical assistance for seniors by seniors. We work with seniors to ensure their safety, reduce loneliness and to encourage their participation in life. Non-medical services provided may include, but are not limited to, companion care, respite care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation, handyman and yard care.
At Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home services, we not only provide assistance with daily living tasks, we pair seniors with a person who can relate to their challenges and who respects them for all they are doing to age gracefully in their home. This peer relationship is one in which both people feel valued and appreciated. Our caregivers are friendly, compassionate seniors who know the challenges that come with aging.
Our in-home senior care starts with a clear understanding of who you are and what we can do to make your life a little easier and a little brighter. Whatever services you need and whenever you need them – for yourself or a loved one – we think you’ll discover that having assistance from a warm, caring, and dedicated senior caregiver can make all the difference in the world.
Seniors Helping Seniors® SE Minnesota owners, Dick and Linda McIntosh, firmly believe they can serve seniors in ther community. They have a passion for meeting the needs of seniors in a way that provides both dignity and a sense of camaraderie. Our in-home care feels like getting a little help from your friends®. Our caregivers are compassionate, mature, active women and men who we carefully match to your specific needs, as well as your personality. We can provide assistance whenever you need it – any day of the week and any hour of the day, including overnight.
Our Mission
The Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care service enables seniors to maintain an independent lifestyle in their own homes for as long as possible. Not only do we provide assistance, our trusted caregivers are also a source of connection and companionship, helping seniors continue to enjoy a wide range of activities at home and around the community.
We change people’s lives® by matching more active seniors with less active seniors. This mutually beneficial and enriching relationship provides both the caregiver and the recipient a way to give and receive®. Our organization is made up of caring and compassionate senior caregivers who are committed to bringing love into the lives of seniors with dignity and respect.
Our Seniors Helping Seniors® Core Values
We match seniors who need a hand with mature, active women and men who have a passion for helping others. Seniors Helping Seniors® was founded in 1998 with two simple ideas:
• Seniors can help each other age more happily and gracefully.
• Seniors who give, and those who receive, benefit equally.
We Provide:
• An experienced, reliable resource for seniors who want to stay in their own homes.
• In-home care, companionship, and services from seniors who enjoy helping others.
• Reasonable hourly rates for seniors who want care and companionship.
• Reasonable hourly wages to seniors who want to provide these services.
About Our Founders
Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care service was co-founded by Kiran and Philip Yocom in order to realize Kiran’s personal mission of providing care for those who can’t care for themselves. Before coming to the United States from India, Kiran worked with Mother Teresa for 14 years.
How We've Grown
From our roots in Pennsylvania, and our first match in 1998, Seniors Helping Seniors® has grown to include hundreds of locations in the US and Internationally. We continue to grow and evolve, adding new services to better assist seniors and refining our caregiver training as new industry best practices come to light.
Live Longer. Live Stronger. Seniors Need Seniors.
Many seniors have lived in their current home for decades. Their greatest wish is to remain in the place where they have cherished memories, their personal belongings, and a sense of security. They take pride in their independence and in maintaining the life they have always lived.
We provide assistance to seniors in Rochester, Austin, Owatonna, and surrounding areas.
