My relative was receiving home care that was covered by the fireman’s benefit and his own funds. He was hospitalized and then went into a rehabilitation facility since the home care was not enough for him. He may go back home but his daughter tells us that the home care is still being paid for even though the home health aide is not at his home for over 6 weeks.
How can they charge for her not providing a service? I plan on calling the agency but they’re not open on Sunday? Any idea how that works?
Maybe there’s some contractual agreement.

Are you the POA, if not, I doubt if they will talk to you. Actually, they shouldn't. Its a healthcare thing so probably a HIPPA thing too.

I would call and ask them as when my mom was hospitalized for longer periods of time - services were shut off with in home health and then had to be completely reinstated with new orders when we came home. New assessments etc if things changed - even if she just had a small stay in a hospital they had to come back in for reassessments - to see if their were any changes to the orders.
My moms is not through a fireman’s program so I would report it to the company she was using and share your concerns.

Sometimes an aide is paid when the person they’re providing care for is either hospitalized or in rehab. It can be a way of keeping a good employee since they’ll often find another position if not paid

Is it really your business? It may be contractual. Is the daughter the POA? As such it is her business to keep relatives information private.
