I feel my dad would have lived hospice is cruel I will never deal with them again . If somebody bring them to me I won't be the one on there death bed

I have stage 4 cancer which is in remission now, thank God. I'll be on the phone to hospice the moment it comes back though, because the cancer will be the cause of my death, not hospice. Hospice will prevent me from dying in pain and anguish though. Hospice is the blessing, disease is the curse. And trying to prolong a dying persons life is the ultimate cruelty.

My condolences on the loss of your father.

Hospice is end of life care. Comfort care. The person getting Hospice care is dying from what ever is wrong with them. The doctors feel they can do no more. The patient or family goes in knowing that all life giving measures will be stopped. They are given anxiety medication and Morphine for pain and ease in breathing.

The first sign that the end is near is they can't swallow anymore. This means the body is shutting down. Food and water can no longer be digested.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Perhaps you went into hospice not understanding what its purpose is and what services they provide and don't? I'm sorry for you loss. May you receive healing and peace in your heart.

I’m sorry for the loss of a beloved dad. Hospice was a great help to my dad after he chose it for himself. I remain grateful that my dad was able to live in his home as he wished, be kept pain free and comfortable, and leave this world when he was ready. Hospice wasn’t cruel, it was kind, in an impossibly sad time. I wish you healing and peace

Death is cruel, not hospice.

Hospice doesn’t kill people. It’s designed to give a peaceful death when death is inevitable.
