Find Care & Housing
monet333, the vast majority of grown children do not get paid for taking care of their parent... unless the parent can pay from their own retirement fund.

Otherwise, you could check with your State's Medicaid office [not the same as Medicare] to see what programs are available. Some States have a program where you can be paid but note the payment is minimal.

Hi,

Caregiving definitely can take a bite out of your budget-especially if you need to reduce your hours at work to care for a family member. This is a complex issue with lots of twists and turn.
The best resource I have seen is:
www.aarp.org/caregiving/financial-legal/info-2017/you-can-get-paid-as-a-family-caregiver.html

If your loved one is a Vet, there may be VA programs you can access.
Best of luck to you
Margaret
