My mom has sensitive skin that breaks out in an itchy rash quite easily. She needs incontinence panties because she has cauda equina from falling and breaking her sacrum last spring. I’ve been buying Always Discreet but after nine months, she just told me they’ve been making her itch and she’s all broken out. Is there anything out there for itchy sensitive skin? Thanks.

I’m just talking about where the panty touches her skin. This is not about chafing or not being clean enough. This is just about being allergic to the panties themselves. In my searches, the only items that are turning up are those for extended wear, overnight, heavy use. She doesn’t need that. Plus she is a tiny little lady and some of the recommendations in my searches are showing things that look huge and long. She is 5’ tall and weighs 90 lbs.

Have you tried washable diapers? They are made out of cotton and shouldn't be any more irritating than normal underwear. You can get it on Amazon from various vendors. It's not cheap, about $15 for panties but they are washable so last a good long time. In the long run, they end up being cheaper than disposable.

Have you tried applying a barrier cream to the skin to provide a protective layer between the skin and the panty?
If you use a product like Desitin, that thick white stuff apply it gently I used to "pat it on" rather than rubbing or smearing. I also mixed the Desitin with a product like A&D and that made it go on a bit smoother and easier. (I used about a 50/50 mix) You do not need a lot so use it sparingly because you don't want to have to try to get it off during a shower or bath.
There is also a product called Gloves in a Bottle. This product is a thinner liquid and when applied to the skin forms a barrier that will not come off. It will come off as the skin naturally sheds. Using it in a large are would be rather costly but it would work.
