Find Care & Housing
Sorry, I should be more clear, we are still married, have been for 58 years, I go to a support group once a week, and see a counselor when ever I can, he just came apart right after I got home from the support group and threatened me with all those things , accusations that were not true, I understand about them taking things out on their caregivers...but this was over and beyond for me. The divorce and leaving me , to the point of having to go on welfare were some of the threats.
Maybe I am over reacting...

It’s the dementia. You aren’t over reacting because honestly, the things he is saying are things NO spouse wants to hear. You don’t deserve to be treated this way, I just hope you understand that it’s the dementia talking. I’m so sorry you are going through this. Just keep reminding yourself, it’s the dementia and as hard as it is, try not to take his words personal

Could you give us more information regarding your situation with your husband?  As I understand it, you and your husband are in your 80's; were married for 58 years  and your husband divorced you after he developed dementia.  More information will help us give appropriate and more helpful suggestions to you.
