this is a crazy question but where do most of you dispose of the poop bags? I have so many a day and even double bagging them does not stop the smell. our trash is picked up once a week and after a week the can is rank. Have to take it to car wash ever once in while to really clean it.

Find Care & Housing
I have a garbage can at a far point from the house. I got a large can with a tight fitting lid. I put a lawn and leaf size bag in can. As I change mom I put the diaper in a small grocery store plastic bag and tie it tight, then take to trash right away. I live in a small rural area, so I am able to burn. I have a burn ring away from house. I occasionally will burn her diapers when I burn other paper products. A good hot fire will burn anything. I know burning is not so environmentally friendly but I do what I got to do.
I know this sounds strange but I noticed that when I switch mom from those plastic outside diapers to the ones that are cloth-like outside. The smell wasn't so strong. But maybe its me imagining that.
Getting off subject for a second... Those cloth-like diapers are WONDERFUL. They have velcro style tabs and are breathable. Moms bum has looked so good since the switch. They fit very well and she sweats less in that area now. Just thought I would pass that along. I would have never found these unless hospice suggested them.
If you can get the soiled diapers as far away from house as you can will help alot with smell.

I use a product called CitruScent, does not mask odor, it elimintes it, but others will post about what they use.... sorry, it's summer, no way to get rid of the odor completely.....

Have you tried putting charcoal in the bottom of the trash can, the cheap kinda not the kind with lighter fluid in it. The Charcoal will help with the odor. Scoe 10x will also help with the odor

I also bag in smaller bag, then into bigger bag that has a 'mositure/odor absorber' thing velcroed to the top of the can. makes a huge difference. Then out 2x week with regular garbage

I'm sorry I hit submit too soon. Use regular commercial kitty litter in the bag. You can also pour a layer of kitty litter in the bottom of the trashcan. Most have a fairly good result.

Another thing you might consider is her diet. What is she eating & can she tolerate probiotics? If she has a compact stool then you can dispose of it in the toilet & continue to dispose of the pads in a bag. For those who want to be environmentally friendly, there are bags for doggie pick up that are large enough for adult diapers, but they are a bit pricey.

My mother, just recently, started having more accidents and I had to move the garbage can from inside the garage to the outside, side of the house....the smell was just too bad in the garage. I also bag the dirty diapers in the plastic grocery bags and take them out ....that keeps her bathroom and bedroom smelling better. I use Bath and Body Works plug-ins and that helps a lot too. I also mixed up a spray bottle of essential oils (Lavender, peppermint, and whatever you like) and water and I spray that around her toilet and shower...it freshens up the air without the use of too many chemical air fresheners.
