My husband has Parkinson's disease. I have an aide coming in 2 hrs daily, Monday through Friday. She has been with us for 2 years. Besides all of the emotional thoughts of placing my husband into an assisted living facility, there is the concern about how long before the funds run out. I have been verbally given a different amounts since the first written letter when we started using his benefits. I have requested this information twice before.

Wow. I hate to suggest a "lawyer letter" requesting this in writing, but I myself wouldln't know what else to do. I hope others have better ideas for you.

Do they have a website? If so, all your info is probably there. You may just need to set up and acct so you can see your personal info. Of course the amt will constantly change. If you do not have access to a cell phone or computer, maybe a family member can set it up and check up on it for you.

I do not set up accts if I can help it. But this is the way of the world.

How are the benefits being paid? With my husband's LTC company, we were billed weekly by the agency providing aides, we paid, then monthly we sent copies of the bills for reimbursement. We would get monthly statements showing details of the payment (dates of service) and the balance of what remained in the policy. It sounds as though your husband's LTC company must be paying the provider directly if you aren't receiving statements. You're entitled to see a copy of what's been paid out and what the balance is. You should request this in writing, by mail, sending a certified letter with signature required so you have proof they received the request letter. In the short run, you might be able to "guesstimate" what remains if you know what the amoiunt was at the start and how much the aides have been paid; possibly the agency could let you know the latter if they bill the LTC compnay directly and are paid directly. (My husband had Parkinson's too, and we had aides two days a week, sometimes three days, for 4-hour shifts.)

Call and ask for a disbursement printout with up to date ending balance.
