includes general cleaning and housekeeping and driving to appointments

It all depends on your state. In GA, there are some programs that send in help with light housework, but there are requirements. It is also a grant based thing & there are waiting lists. You need to contact an Aging Council in your area to see what your state offers.

Also, some churches have a ministry where they take older or cancer patients to treatments/Dr. appointments.

There is a volunteer organization where my parents lived. It was seniors helping seniors.

My my parents were volunteers there for years. Doing everything from cleaning house to repairing plumbing.

As the local council on aging if there are such programs programs in your area.

You have asked this question before. Have you called ur Office of Aging as suggested. Most resources are for homecare for caring for the person. You may have to pay out of pocket for someone to come and clean.
