I was contacted by a facility and the starting wage is $16/ hour. Is this good for the area?

For what job?

I turned to Google to see what pay scales are like in the area (you could try that?) and while I was searching came across this link:

I would never want to put anyone off this career path, because heaven knows it is vital work and anyone who is drawn to it as a vocation should be supported and encouraged. But that paper includes a lot of home truths that policy makers, regulators and legislators need to take on board. They'll only do that if voters start growling, mind.

This PDF is very informative. Thank you so much for taking the time. I did notice that the hourly pay is closer to minimum wage on average.

As a caregiver in the facility right? That’s $4 an hour more than minimum wage & what IHSS pays home caregivers. Even in Sacramento, I’d say it’s barely a livable wage at that but.....these types of jobs don’t pay much here :(

Thank you for your feedback. So your saying starting $16/hr with opportunity to get raises is not appealing?
